The E initial indicates electric problems in the oven, but the variety comes with the numbers after E. When you see the F2E0 error code after turning on the oven, you will understand that some key from the touchpad is stuck to the user interface.

As a result, the oven’s other keys will not work, and you can’t command it to do anything. It is a central problem of the Whirlpool oven control board. It is common to face such a problem, but you must know about the solutions too.

What to Do When F2E0 Shows up on the Oven?

A common suggestion for every Whirlpool oven user when they see an error code is to restart the oven. Let’s see the whole process step by step:

  • When the error code appears on the screen, you should immediately press the cancel button to remove it.
  • Next, you will have to wait for at least 30 seconds, and it will be better if you give it 60 seconds. That’s because some technical issues can automatically sort out after that.
  • If you’re unsatisfied with this cancellation, you can detach the plug from the socket and reconnect the oven to electricity.
  • Please check if the error code is showing up again after turning on the oven or not. Sometimes the oven may have a temporary electric malfunction which can cause the error codes.

When your oven shows the F2E0 code, it immediately goes away after canceling and waiting for 60 seconds. But if the error code shows up again even after restarting the oven, that means there’s a problem with its keypad.

How to Fix the F2E0 Error Code in Whirlpool Oven?

You must replace the keypad if it doesn’t work after restarting the oven. Mainly a technician can replace the oven touchpad pretty quickly and perfectly than any other person. But you can also try it if you’re confident about fixing electric devices. Let’s see the steps you must follow to replace the whole touchpad due to its error:

Step 1: Get a New Touchpad and Necessary Equipment

The F2E0 indicates the short connection of the keys with the board, and mostly it is caused due to the sensor connected to the outer pad. So, you must bring the same model touch board for your oven, which will cost you nearly 170 bucks. You should also bring enough screws and a screwdriver to proceed.

Step 2: Detach the Old Keypad

First, you must undo all the 5 screws from the outer touch pad to detach it. Next, you will find many wires connected to the pad, which you also need to detach. But make sure that you have marked all the wires so that you can join them properly again after replacing the pad.

Step 3: Attach the New Pad and Ribbon

The outer layer has an inner operating keypad that regulates the oven. So, you must take the old pad out and watch where the problem occurred. The damage may be both on the board or in the ribbon with a golden pathway.

You must find the area and attach the new ribbon to the spot. Next, you will fold the ribbon and attach the black part from the previous board.

Step 4: Get the New Board on the Oven

After fixing the touch board, you can reattach the black pad to the oven. Please be careful while joining the wires in their respective places.

After joining wires on the plate, you have to use the screwdriver to screws to attach the pad.

Step 5: Check the Oven

When you have fixed the oven, you must turn it on and check if it works properly. You won’t see the error code appearing once you have fixed it.

Bottom Line

F2E0 Whirlpool Oven is a standard error that you can have due to the key being stuck on the pad. Some solutions are effective, especially restarting the oven and waiting for a minute.

Replacing the whole board is not easy for everyone unless one is easy with the instruments. However, it’s necessary to understand the codes, and if you don’t know the indications, take help from the manual.
